Does Boost Lab Neck Firming Serum work for women over 45?
It is a well liked product. Google Shopping shows it at about 4.4 stars from more than 5,000 ratings, and many buyers say their neck skin feels smoother and more hydrated. That is a fair expectation for a good neck serum.
At Genova Skincare, women over 45 often ask us whether a neck serum can undo a sagging neck. No topical product can. The American Academy of Dermatology notes that creams cannot penetrate deeply enough to lift sagging skin. Neck bands and a loose "turkey neck" come from muscle, fat and skin laxity underneath, which a serum or cream does not reach.

The brand lists water, propanediol, butylene glycol, pentylene glycol and glycerin first, followed by edelweiss callus culture extract, hydrolysed tef seed extract, rice amino acids, baobab seed extract, proline and plant proteins. In plain terms, it is a light, hydrating serum with plant extracts and amino acids.
Hydration alone can make crepey neck skin look smoother, which may explain much of what buyers notice. Boost Lab's own copy describes the serum as stimulating collagen. We could not find independent published trials on this formula to support that, so we would treat it as the brand's description rather than a proven effect. The same caution applies to Genova's own ingredients.
What has the strongest evidence for ageing skin is retinoids. A trial in the Archives of Dermatology by Kafi and colleagues found retinol lotion improved fine wrinkles in older adults over 24 weeks, though neck skin can be sensitive to it.

A serum is lighter and sinks in fast. It suits oily or combination skin, or anyone who already likes their moisturiser and wants to add a step. A cream gives more cushioning, which suits the drier, thinner neck skin many women notice after menopause.
