Iontophoresis
Genova’s Ion applicator uses the principle of “Ionisation”, where the applicator creates a galvanic (electric) current to drive product deeper into skin tissue. This process is also known as Iontophoresis. The positively-charged current is responsible for delivering Genova’s active ingredients within its skincare products deeper into the skin, via positively-charged ions or molecules.
Vibration
The Genova Ion applicator produces over 10,000 vibrations per minute to exfoliate the skin, deep cleanse and reduce pore size. Importantly, the vibrations separate the skin cells to allow the “Ionisation” energy to drive Genova’s skincare products deep into skin tissue. During this process, blood circulation is increased, which in turn opens the cells of the skin, increasing your skin’s capacity to absorb nutrients.
LED Therapy
LED treatment works by using bright light-emitting diodes which send low-level light energy into the deeper layers of the skin. Red light LED stimulates cellular activity (which gives young skin its plump look). How to Use
- Apply the Genova skincare product to your skin, by either your fingertip or the spatula feature at the top of the Genova Ion Applicator
- Gently hold the base of the Ion Applicator with your palm of one hand and apply the head of the Applicator to the desired area of skin
- The applicator will turn on once it is in contact with your skin and the applied skincare product. In case of insufficient contact with the skin, simply place your index finger at the top back of the Applicator’s head to ensure a better connection.
- Use the device to massage your Genova skincare product in a circular motion over the required area
- Up to several minutes of use is sufficient to drive the Genova Skincare product into your skin’s surface
- Clean the head of the Genova Ion Applicator and store the product on the supplied cradle

The applicator will turn on once it is in contact with your skin and the applied skincare product. In case of insufficient contact with the skin, simply place your index finger at the top-back of the Applicator’s head to ensure a better connection.
The supplied alkaline battery will last over 300 applications. The battery will need replacement when it fails to turn on, or is not providing sufficient vibration. To change the battery, simply twist the head of the Applicator anti-clockwise to remove it from the main body. This will expose the battery and provide access for you to remove it, replacing it with a new battery.
We recommend that you only use alkaline batteries in the Ion Applicator
After use, simply clean the head of the applicator with a soft cloth and return the main body to the cradle.
